A small, 3.25" x 2", square wooden box with a lid. The exterior is etched with a design of a goldfish swimming among lily pads, with etched lines representing water. The lid features a square red seal and hand-etched Chinese characters, both in a style often seen in mid-20th-century Asian art exports. The interior is lined with a vibrant, fuchsia-colored silk fabric. The goldfish is a symbol of good luck and prosperity in Chinese culture, while the lotus or lily pads represent purity and rebirth. In good condition, but note there is a small flea bite on the edge corner of the lid, not within the design (can be seen on 4th photo). The finish shows crazing due to age but does not effect function of the box.

Hello, my name is Judy and I love all things MCM. I'm excited to share my vintage and unique finds from glass paperweights, art glass vases and pottery to fun figurines in ceramic, porcelain, and glass. When I'm not searching for the next great piece, I love spending time with my wonderful hubby, Chip and our dog, Oliver, or getting creative with my scrapbooking projects.
