Inger Persson Mid-Century Bird Figurine Pair

Amazing and rare adorable stoneware modern tropical bird figurine with striking, vibrant turquoise head and eyes, and spotted chamotte base. These birds were intricately sculpted with feather details and rusty brown upper. Handpainted by Inger Persson for Rorstrand Atelje Series, these birds are true collectors pieces. Both of the birds are in excellent vintage condition. One of the birds has what is either a very small chip or a "flaw" from the creation process. The other bird has a small spot of surface crazing (?) not really sure how to describe it but both of these are shown clearly in the photos. They are both signed on the bottom by the artist. The birds are about 3.25" tall and about 3.5" wide at the bottom.

Inger Persson's artistry includes a many ceramic pieces. She is particularly well known for her vast and diversified production of wall plaques. They have a great range of shapes, sizes, and decors. She designed wall plaques for the Swedish Rorstrand Company in the 1960s.
