Details
Crafted with care, this Hibiscus Company serving bowl evokes the spirit of mid-century modernism with its leaf-shaped design. Made from the renowned Kamagong wood, known for its density, hardness, durability and rich dark brown tones, this piece showcases the artistry of Filipino craftsmanship. The bowl's natural wood finish highlights its hand-carved details, underscoring its authenticity and the skilled handiwork that brought it to life. A true vintage gem from the 1960s, this leaf-shaped bowl is not only a functional serving piece but also a work of art that adds an MCM aesthetic to any collection. Measuring at 11.9 inches in length, 5.5 inches in width, and 1.9 inches in height, it has a depth of 1.75 inches and weighs 11.8 ounces. This rare wood bowl is a testament to the era's style and the timeless appeal of artisanal furnishings. (Note: At this time, Kamagong trees are considered an endangered tree species and are protected by Philippine law. Back in that time period, Kamagong wood was used for fine furniture and decorative items such as this leaf bowl.)
The bowl is in Very Good Used Condition. There are no chips or cracks. There are light scratches in varying areas of the bowl, but primarily on the underside where it was handled most. Please review the pictures for a complete sense of the bowl's description. Thank you!
