MCM Signed Studio Art Pottery Redware Spaghetti Lion by Nancy Hicks Rare

Offering this splendid hand crafted studio art pottery redware spaghetti Lion by artist Nancy Hicks, a North Carolina potter known for her animal figurines which she sold at North Carolina art fairs through the 1980s, she passed away in the 1990s. This particular lion appears to be one of a kind featuring scrafitto facial features with a happy smile, 3D nose, spaghetti maine & tail fur, plus rich burnt umber and raw umber shiny satin glaze. Stands approximately 3.1/2" tall, x 6" long, x 3.1/2" wide. Mid Century Modern style, exact age is unclear, He weighs about 1 LB.3 oz. Excellent vintage condition, no damage. Some creation process separations in the clay on the bottom interior, and typical with heavy redware clay. Very cool
