This beautiful pair of vintage jugs from Gray's Pottery (England) and Old Castle Pottery (the American stamp used by Gray's Pottery in North America) is a must-have for any mid-century modern collector. The copper lustre with pinkish-purple flowers, green and copper florals are very pretty. Crafted in Stoke-on-Trent, England in the early 1950s, these jugs are 1) a medium size marked with Gray's Pottery with design A8678, and 2) a small size marked with Old Castle Pottery with design A5981. They both have printed backstamps.
Each jug is in excellent used condition. There are no chips or cracks. The medium-sized jug (the Gray's Pottery) has a spot of discoloration inside the neck of the jug - see picture 8. The small jug has crazing of the clear glaze.
Dimensions: Medium Jug (Gray's Pottery) - 2.7 inches tall, 3.4 inches long, 2.4 inches wide Small Jug (Old Castle) - 2.25 tall, 2.8 inches long, 2.2 inches wide
