Details
Vinyl plays nicely (play-graded). 12" Single. Generic "Big Life" cover has a few creases near edges; scuffing (front/back). Inner-sleeve is original (generic white). Spine is mostly readable with wear. Shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
I'm Free (12" Single), by Soup Dragons, is a four-track 12-inch vinyl EP featuring a bold cover of the Rolling Stones' I'm Free re-imagined as a euphoric baggy/Madchester anthem, with the lead Freedom Remix clocking in at 6:25 and incorporating a famous gospel sample from the Impressions' People Get Ready for its uplifting drive. The tracklist also includes an Accapella version at 3:17, a remixed Backwards Dog running 6:08, and the quirky original 4 Way Brain at 2:32, showcasing the band's playful experimental side alongside their dancefloor prowess. Historically significant as one of the key singles that propelled the short-lived "baggy" sound from the UK indie-dance scene into mainstream global awareness, much like contemporaries Happy Mondays and The Stone Roses. Fan-favorites among collectors include the extended Freedom Remix for its rave-ready grooves and the raw Accapella for highlighting the vocal hooks. The title track became a breakout international hit, reaching No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart, No. 2 on the US Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart, and No. 79 on the Hot 100, further boosted by its prominent use in a major Volkswagen television advert.
