Beautiful Vintage Lion of Lucerne wooden Mohegan Bookends. These bookends are replicas of the original stone sculpture carved to commemorate Swiss guardsmen who died during the French Revolution in 1792.
The Bookends are marked “Helvetiorum Fidei ac Virtute” - which translates as “Loyalty and Bravery of the Swiss.”
The Bookends are excellent in VINTAGE CONDITION and they have wonderful patina. I freshly oiled these as Colorado is so dry. The corners & backsides of the bases, show wear & the lions have some wear to the finish, see photos.
5 1/2” Tall x 7 1/2” Long x 3” deep
These weigh 3lbs 13oz before packaging
